Wonder Women

I recently had the honor of attending the 4th Annual Women in the World Summit at Lincoln Center. This summit presented by Newsweek and The Daily Beast, was a series of panels that discussed female empowerment and highlighted the struggles and triumphs of heroines of all ages throughout the world. This event filled me with a sense of gratitude and pride in being a woman and an appreciation for the strength and compassion that we all possess. Although the panelists and guest speakers included legends like Meryl Streep, Oprah Winfrey, Barbara Walters, and Hillary Clinton, one of the people I was most excited to see was Diane Von Furstenberg.

Strong. Chic. Classy. Sexy. Philanthropist. Powerful. Iconic.

Diane Von Furstenberg is one of my favorite designers. As the president of the CFDA, she advocates for more diversity on the runways and instituted weight guidelines the prevent the perpetuation of eating disorders in the fashion. Her impact in the fashion world has been immense and I love that she uses her platform to promote the rights of others. And then there's her clothes....OMG!! Whenever I spot some vintage DVF, I am all over it!!!

Speaking of vintage, this black and white beaded choker is one of my favorite vintage Diane Von Furstenberg pieces I own.

Well, the weather is going to be great this week so I will leave you with a famous DVF quote. "Feel like a woman. Wear a dress!"
